And Gilles...

If I said the sort of things about Quebec that you're saying about Alberta, especially about your attire, at the very least I would be branded a bigot. More likely I would be hauled before the "Human Rights" Commission on "hate speech" charges.

An open letter to Michel Moore...

Shut up. That's what your American opponents have done.

Uh, Buzz, gee.. wonder...

Why the hell do you think the Albertan people hold the labour movement under contempt such as they do? The feeling is mutual.

To hell with Alberta...

You know, Jack, the NDP did have an outside chance in Edmonton-Strathcona - that is, until you shot your big mouth off about using OUR oil and gas as a bargining chip in the softwood dispute.

Then again, I suppose you don't give a shit because we don't vote for you. That's why there's a brewing unity crisis out here. You idiot.

I mean seriously - even if it was federal jurisdiction, how the hell is crippling the energy sector going to help people in the forest industry?!?!

They can't do anything right...

Now the Liberals can't even use the Zeisman affair against the Tories, after they had to drop one of their own British Columbian candidates for trying to bribe his New Democratic opponent.

In his own words:

"I think governance says that the courts shouldn't be overturned by politicians."

Liberal Leader Paul Martin, January 9, 2006.

In other words, the courts should make the laws while the governing Liberals rape the public purse and line the pockets of themselves and their friends. That must be what they're planning, since they've basically now promised not to "govern."

Abandon ship!

Punters on Betfair are abandoning the Liberals faster than Paul Martin can abandon any pretensions of having any right to "govern" anything. The Tories, who were 3/1 against when the British betting exchange started taking bets, have shortened to 4/1 on. Meanwhile, in a desperate attempt to prevent his party' complete collapse, Martin made an ad hoc promise in last night's debates. Essentially, he's promising to transfer the legislative powers of what he laughingly calls a "democracy" to our unelected judiciary.

Yes, he really is that stupid!

Sinking lower in more ways than one

With the Liberal campaign collapsing on all fronts, increasingly desperate attacks are becoming the norm. Their latest frantic broadside includes labelling a Christian women's organization that happened to give a Conservative MP an audience as "far-right." Is there no depth to which this scum will sink?

More on the numbers

There is one poll where the Liberals have seen their numbers go up and up and up. The bad news is that on http://www.betfair.com, that's not where you want the numbers going. When the British betting exchange began taking bets on the election earlier in the campaign, punters gave the Liberals comfortable odds of 1.35 - that's almost 3/1 favourites. Now, the odds on the Liberals are above 2.0 (i.e. the punters feel their chances of winning are worse than 50-50 or "even") while it's the Tories who are favoured with odds of 1.76 - about a 4/3 favourite.

Of course, it's all fun and games on Betfair since n0body would actually bet on the outcome an election. Having said that, it seems that when election day nears the punters on Betfair usually get it spot on.
